Congratulations! All you graduates!
The only recipe for Hardknocks to stay on top is by recording remarkable pass rates, like it did last sitting, producing about 19 graduates in one sitting! Sounds unbelievable for a ‘growing’ institution but everyone better believes it because it’s nothing short of true. There are tertiary learning institutions in this country, let alone this town, with established structures, lavish classrooms, well maintained administration blocks, you name them, but with all this ‘heaven on earth,’ continue to record results that are so bad one would think the students were forever on their own. It is in this instance that Coach Carter (and the rest of his team’s) efforts can not go unnoticed; but equally appreciated are the students efforts, without which either of the parties (the lecturers or the students) wouldn’t have made it very far, or must I say anywhere. Even though Coach Carter refused to take any credit (during one of the Management Accounting lectures), I think it’s only fair that it is forced on him because certainly, the graduates wouldn’t have done without him and his team. Like I have already said, the efforts can only but compliment each other. No man is an island, (the English say).
So, again, hats off and plenty pats on the backs for the December 2007 Hardknocks graduates. Keep the flame of Hardknocks burning ladies and gents, we can only but appreciate your incomparable efforts. I challenge all of us to see it incumbent upon ourselves to take this institution to greater heights because to me, at the rate it’s going and looking at what it has done is such a short space of time, it’s already great. One last caution Hardknocks, do not be complacent, and do not relax because your competitors / rivals are watching you very, very, very closely…. I rest my case.
